Athena received her law degree from the New England School of Law in Boston, Massachusetts in 2001. Athena continued her studies and in 2002 she obtained a LL.M. in Intellectual Property Law from the John Marshall Law School in Chicago, Illinois. Prior to undertaking her legal studies, Athena obtained a B.A. (Hons.) in Law from Carleton University in 1997.
Athena was called to the bar in 2008 and is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada.
